BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT:
On Thursday August 14th will host our annual Back-to-School Night from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m..
3-4 pm - 7th Grade
4-6 pm- 8th and 9th grade
Parents and students are encouraged to come to the school to meet their teachers and participate in festivities.
During Back-to-School Night, our amazing Counseling will be holding a 7TH GRADE ORIENTATION from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Roy Junior High Summer School Update! What a fantastic first week of summer school at Roy Junior High! We're so proud of all our students putting in the hard work and making incredible progress on earning those credits. It's inspiring to see so many of you dedicated to your studies and getting ahead! A huge shout-out to our 7th graders in the Summer Math Boot Camp! It's been a massive success, and we're thrilled to see so many students strengthening their math skills and building confidence for the upcoming school year. Keep up the amazing work! Roy Community Literacy Night was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us at Roy High for an evening dedicated to the joy of reading. A heartfelt thank you to Jennifer A. Nielsen for her inspiring keynote address, and to our incredible guest authors: Jennifer Jenkins, Chad Morris & Shelly Brown, Emily Inouye Huey, and Frank L. Cole—your time and words meant so much to our students and families.

WSD Alerts March 5, 2025 - 8:00 pm Subject: Important Update on Roy-Area Schools and Fiber Optic Outage Dear Parents and Guardians, Thank you for your patience as we navigate the ongoing fiber optic outage in the Roy area. We are pleased to share that repair work is progressing, and two schools—Roy High and Sandridge Jr. High—are now back online. These schools will resume their regular schedules tomorrow. Earlier this morning, Midland Elementary was affected by the repair process and went offline. However, thanks to the dedication of our incredible educators, support staff, district and tech services team, and Principal Vorwaller, the school day continued successfully. At this time, Midland remains offline. Lumen (CenturyLink) has indicated that repairs should be completed this evening. We are cautiously optimistic that the remaining affected schools—Roy Jr. High, Freedom Elementary, Roy Elementary, Hooper Elementary, Municipal Elementary, and Midland Elementary—will be back online and ready for classes tomorrow. To keep you informed, we will send an update by 5:45 AM tomorrow via Remind and post it on the district website. This message will confirm the status of the affected schools. If repairs are not fully completed, we will continue prioritizing safety and building security, which could result in a canceled, shortened, or delayed start to the school day.
