Roy Jr. High is excited to announce the appointment of its new head boys basketball coach, Mr. Colton Hill, a familiar face with deep roots in the Roy community and a strong passion for developing student-athletes.
A proud product of Roy schools, Mr. Hill attended Roy Elementary, Roy Jr. High, and Roy High School, where his love for the game of basketball first began. Having played basketball at Roy Jr. himself, stepping into this role is both a professional milestone and a personal honor.
“I’m honored to step into the role of head basketball coach here at Roy Junior High, where I also have the privilege of teaching,” he shared. “This program has always been close to my heart.”
He brings valuable experience to the position. Last season, he served as the assistant coach at Roy Jr. High, building strong relationships with players and gaining insight into the program. Prior to that, he spent three years as a head coach in the Ogden School District, where his teams saw consistent success.
With both his coaching background and strong ties to the Roy community, he is committed to building a program centered on hard work, discipline, and competitiveness.
“As a coach, I focus on developing players not just athletically, but personally—emphasizing effort, character, and growth both on and off the court,” he said.
Roy Jr. High is confident that under his leadership, the boys basketball program will continue to grow and thrive. His dedication to student development and community pride reflects the values of our school and sets a strong foundation for the future.
“I’m excited to be coaching for Roy, working with our student-athletes, and building a program our community can be proud of.”
The Roy Jr. High community looks forward to an exciting new chapter for Razorback basketball. ❤️🖤
