Roy Junior High School, a proud Purple Star School, hosted its annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Assembly on Tuesday, welcoming and honoring the veterans connected to our Razorback community. The event served as a heartfelt reminder of the sacrifices made by service members and the gratitude felt by the students and staff.

The morning began with a light breakfast in the Cafetorium, where veterans and their Roy Jr. students shared time together before the assembly. Laughter, stories, and warm conversations filled the room as families connected and students proudly introduced the heroes in their lives.

Following breakfast, the school gathered in the main gym for a powerful ceremony. The assembly opened with the presentation Roy Jr's large American flag, followed by the National Anthem. Roy Jr.’s Symphonic Band, Advanced Orchestra, and Choirs delivered moving musical tributes that set a reflective and patriotic tone.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the recognition and pinning of each veteran. Veterans were escorted by their students, and introduced and presented with a poppy boutonniere, symbolizing remembrance and honor. The pride on the faces of both veterans and students showed the depth of connection and respect within the Roy Jr. community.

To conclude the celebration, members of FCCLA presented a special gift to each veteran as a token of appreciation for their service and sacrifice.

Events like this highlight Roy Junior High’s ongoing commitment to supporting military-connected students and recognizing the heroes who shape our community. We extend our deepest gratitude to all veterans who attended and to those who continue to serve.

Thank you, Veterans, for your courage, your sacrifice, and your legacy. You will always have a place in the Razorback family.
