NEW QUARTER. RENEWED FOCUS. SAME RAZORBACK GRIT.
Quarter 2 starts today, and we get to write the next chapter of The Roy Jr. Story.
Show up. Ask for help. Practice with purpose. Keep moving forward. Your first quarter gave you experience. What will you do with it?
This Red Ribbon Week, we're choosing to be drug-free and showing up for each other. From pajama pants on Monday to school-appropriate costumes on Friday, let's bring the spirit and remember the purpose: our choices help shape our future.
And our student journalists? They're giving us plenty to think about. October's Razor's Report brings us advice from an NBA insider, opinions that start conversations, and Halloween stories that might make you listen a little closer in the hallway. 👀📰
Every story starts with a good question. Every new chapter starts with a choice about what comes next.
OUR CHOICES. OUR VOICES. OUR NEXT CHAPTER.
Swipe for this week's dress-up days and a look inside Razor's Report. Let's make Quarter 2 count, Razorbacks!

From the first serve to a #2 playoff seed, our boys gave us a season full of energy, big plays, and reasons to be proud!

To our players and coaches: thank you for representing Roy Jr and giving our Razorbacks so much to cheer for! ❤️🖤 🤍

The Roy Jr. Story | Look Back. Think Deeply. Move Forward.
As the first quarter ends Thursday, October 22, we're encouraging our Razorbacks to pause and reflect:
💭 What have I learned?
💭 What evidence shows my growth?
💭 What is my next step?
Deeper thinking happens when we ask questions, explain our ideas, listen to feedback, and use what we've learned—in the classroom, in competition, and on the stage.
Connection helps us grow, too! Bring the whole family to the Roy Cone Family HOPE Fair:
📅 Wednesday, October 21 • 5–7 PM
📍 Roy Junior High
Enjoy FREE snacks and activities, therapy dogs, bracelet making, outdoor games, and chances to win prizes!
Swipe for this week's opportunities to connect and support our Razorbacks. Let's finish first quarter with purpose! ❤️

What a season!
We watched you strike out players and run bases, we cheered for your crazy homerun, we joined in your dugout celebrations and loved seeing the little moments that made this team special! Lady Razorbacks, you gave us plenty to cheer about.
We’re proud of the hard work, determination, and teamwork you brought to the field. More than the plays, it’s the memories made, the friendships built, and the way you represented Roy Jr. High that make this season worth celebrating.
Way to compete, ladies! We’re so proud of you! 🐗

The Roy Jr. Story | Deep Thinking Happens in Steps
Big ideas take time to click.
At Roy Junior High, teachers break complex learning into manageable pieces, model their thinking, teach essential vocabulary, and give students time to process.
Then students discuss, practice, and connect—building understanding and confidence one step at a time.
Clear instruction. Deeper thinking. 🎯

MEET OUR RAZORBACKS
🦴 CASE FILE: The Courtyard Skeleton
Our Investigative Science students had a mystery to solve. 🔎
A skeleton was discovered in the bushes…so what happened?
Okay, maybe it wasn't quite the crime scene they were expecting. 😂 But the investigation was real.
Students had to observe, measure, document, sketch, and apply what they've learned to investigate the scene.
That's Think Deeply in action.
We're not just asking our Razorbacks to learn information. We're asking them to use it. Question it. Connect it. Apply it.
Now it's your turn: What are you learning and appling?

Deep thinking begins with a clear destination.
Learning objectives are more than words posted on a classroom wall. They help students understand what they are learning, why it matters, and what success looks like.
When students know the destination, they can take greater ownership of the journey.
Think Deeply. Make Your Mark. 🔴⚫️
