Back-to-School Information, 2024-2025
Welcome, Razorbacks, to the 2024-2025 school year at Roy Junior High School!
We hope that you are enjoying a wonderful summer. As we approach the new school year, we would like to inform you about some important dates and processes to ensure a smooth start for everyone.
- Beginning August 1, all annual documents required for the upcoming school year will be available online for completion. Please take the time to carefully review and complete these documents to ensure that we have the most current and accurate information for each student. You can find these by logging in to PowerSchool, on the left menu, choosing “Forms,” and selecting the applicable option.
- In addition to the availability of annual documents, paying school fees online will also be accessible starting August 1. This convenient option helps streamline the process and save time for our families. It is also in the PowerSchool menu under “Purchases and Payments.” Fees cannot be paid through the app; logging in to PowerSchool through a web browser is required. School and registration fees can be paid in-person at the main office with a credit/debit card or cash.
- Student schedules will be released starting August 7 for families who have completed the necessary online document review and paid their fees. Access to schedules is contingent upon completing these steps, so we encourage you to complete them promptly to avoid any delays.
- Bus schedules will be finalized August 15. If you have any questions, you can reach Weber School District Transportation at (801) 476-7930.
- For families who would like to apply for a fee waiver (English | Spanish) and/or free or reduced lunch (English | Spanish), you can print off the fee waiver form and submit it in person at the Roy Junior High main office, along with the accompanying documentation. Hard copies of the forms are available in the main office. Please complete all fields on the form(s); incomplete form(s) cannot be considered. Similarly, please complete these form(s) in a timely manner.
- Please do not hesitate to contact our main office if you have any questions or need assistance with the online process. Our staff is here to support you and ensure every student is prepared for a successful start to the school year
A few additional important items and dates to know:
- August 19, 2024 -- Back to School Night
- 3:30 - 4:30pm is for all 7th graders. Start in the main gym bleachers. 7th graders will also be assigned a Chromebook that night and be able to meet their teachers.
- 4:30 - 5:30pm is for all 8th graders. Any new 8th grader will be assigned a chromebook that night.
- 5:30 - 6:30pm is for 9th graders. All 9th graders must bring their current Chromebook and charger for a new Chromebook and charger.
- August 21, 2024 -- First Day of School
- The first three days of school will be on the Early Out schedule (dismissal at 1:15pm). Click here to see Bell Schedules.
- August 27, 2024 -- Picture Day (No hats will be worn for pictures)
- All Wednesdays will be Early Out days (1:15pm dismissal)
- Please see updated version of school cell phone and electronics policy
- Lunches are determined by your student's 5th period teacher. Students who have 1st Lunch will eat lunch between 4th and 5th periods; those who have 2nd Lunch will eat lunch between 5th and 6th periods. The cost of lunch is $2.60 (any additional meal will cost $4.25). The cost of breakfast is $1.85. The Child Nutrition site breaks down costs per-quarter lump sums.
