Student Center Services

RJH Student Center offers a broad range of support services to students, parents, and faculty.  As counselors, we believe in taking a proactive approach in providing these services.  Many students are at risk because they require some kind of specially-designed intervention in order to be successful personally, socially, or academically.  We utilize a broad range of school and community prevention and intervention strategies and resources to assist in the development of our students.

◊  R.E.A.C.H.  (Responsible, Education and Character):
R.E.A.C.H. is a new intervention program being implemented. It provides opportunities for struggling students, in the traditional classroom, to achieve success in a specialized setting, while obtaining academic credit, character education, and study skills.  There is a criteria for entrance into and exit out of the program, which is handled by the R.E.A.C.H. committee.  It is a tiered program in which students are held accountable for their own progress and responsible for their own success.  This program provides the opportunity for students to gain confidence, skills, and insight for being successful in a mainstream school setting.

Support groups provide an opportunity to develop positive relationships with peers, build self-esteem, and provide a positive setting where personal concerns, issues, or accomplishments can be shared.  Groups help students to increase their potential to be successful and enhance skills.

Student planners are available for purchase in the school's main office for $5.00.  Planners are useful to help in tracking class assignments and activities.  Parents should review the planner each day with their student.  This will help students to organize class work and complements our school's internet grading program, THE PORTAL.
