Community Council Minutes

January 14, 2019 Present-Lyn Bardwell, Eugene Endicott, Kristy Haws, Anndee Hoskins, DiAne Morin, Suzanne Stirland, Laura West, Matt Williams, Maddie Hansen- from The Boys and Girls Club.

  1. 1. Welcome- Matt Williams 2. New School Update-Hoggan Construction will be the General Contractors.

Ground breaking was scheduled for March 2019 with the finish and move scheduled for Fall of 2020. They started moving dirt and getting things in order January 3, 2019!!!! We are still planning to start the 2020school year in the new building. Viewed the new school artist rendorings. See attached photos.

  1. 3. Reviewed Weber School District graduation rates and graphs. Roy Highs

projected graduation is up to 93%. See attached graphs. 4. Brainstorm ideas for next years School Lands Trust Plan

Approx. $106,235 a. Teacher buy outs to reduce class size b. Student Advocate to help decrease attendance and work with 9th

graders offline. C. Reading Tutors/Math Tutors- Mr. Endicott suggested a possibility for

Goal to have the 2019-2020 Trustlands plan (draft) done and ready for

council to look over and approve at the meeting in March. 5. Boys and Girls club-Maddie Hansen brought some flyers on the teen

program that the Boys and Girls club offers. They are looking for tutor volunteers to help the students with homework while they are at the club.
